Conversations among singles have shifted recently, in line with national trends: people want to find someone else who is making a difference in the world.
The traditional check list of financial security, religious affiliation, and political affiliation are important to many singles, but philanthropy is making a rise on the list too. So Carolinas Matchmaker decided to pair generosity and dating to create Philanthrodating™.
The mixers are singles events where people can meet others who value charitable giving and volunteer work. Volunteerism is a lifestyle choice. Being able to step outside yourself and help others through donating money or your time creates a certain type of individual. Many people with philanthropy in their DNA want their life partner to have the same mindset they do.
Attendance has grown exponentially since the first Philanthrodating™ event November 2016. And it makes sense, the Charlotte Metro region ranks ninth in the country for charitable giving, donating about 3.4% of their income to charity. Nearly 47% of millennials volunteered for a cause or nonprofit in the past month.
Join Carolinas Matchmaker Laurie Berzack and Charlotte Cystic Fibrosis STANDOUT committee co-hosts Stephanie Johnson and Farai Gwata for an exciting Philanthrodating™ for young professionals singles mixer at Ink N Ivy on August 23rd benefiting the Charlotte Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Come out to mingle and enjoy the company of new people in a fun and relaxed atmosphere while supporting a great cause! This will be the fourth Philanthrodating™ event hosted by Carolinas Matchmaker. So far, the mixers have raised almost $10,000 for Charlotte charities.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Thank you to Ink N Ivy for donating the space for our event. Light refreshments will be provided by our corporate philanthropist partner, Brownlee Jewelers, with a cash bar available. Feel free to invite your single friends. We can’t wait to see you there!
